Notice
PDP is only required for Tanker Drivers transporting finished product to the customer (e.g UN1202, 1203, 1223 etc). PDP is a health and safety industry standard required by UK wide loading terminals & customer delivery sites.
Full PDP
To gain a full PDP, drivers are required to attend a classroom course (25W), sit a written multiple-choice exam and complete a practical assessment (25P) by an approved PDP assessor. All elements of PDP qualification are conducted under the direction of the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA). Drivers must undertake the practical element of PDP within 4 months of passing the written exam.
Refresher Training
In order to maintain the validity of your PDP drivers must take an annual classroom refresher and annual practical assessment in line with the anniversary of your award. Your PDP can be renewed within 4 months of your PDP anniversary but not later than 6 weeks before this date. If a PDP has not been renewed by the last 6 weeks of your anniversary the driver will be required to complete a revalidation training.
Petroleum Driver Passport - PDP
The Petroleum Driver Passport (PDP) is not a legally required qualification, it is; however, an industry requirement. Drivers will need to complete a classroom session and exam and then within four months of this must undertake a practical assessment (25P).
This practical assessment can prove to be a problem for individuals taking the PDP as you need to be operating and driving a petroleum tanker to be assessed.
As our PDP examinations are run on line and provide instant results at the end of the course, we can issue drivers with confirmation of passing the (25W) classroom element; which can be shown to potential employers.
