Theory Test
The first step in gaining the Initial Driver CPC Qualification is the theory test module that is specific to LGV and PCV. This test is also mandatory if you wish to drive a bus, coach or lorry whether it be for personal or professional reasons or otherwise. The test is made up of two separate tests that you will need to pass:
Multiple Choice Test
The multiple choice test is carried out on a touch-screen computer in which 100 questions will be asked. The candidate will have 115 minutes to complete the test.
In order to pass, you must achieve a score of at least 85.
Hazard Perception Test
The hazard perception test is again carried out on a computer in which a candidate is shown 19 video clips from a driver's point of view. Each clip contains a number of developing hazards. The candidate has to click the mouse button to register he/she has seen each hazard.
In order to pass, you must achieve a score of 67 out of a possible 100.
