Driver CPC
Driver CPC is a compulsory qualification known as (DQC or Certificate of Professional Competence) this is required by the European Union to, maintain high driving standards, improve knowledge & skills for drivers and to enhance driver safety. All professional HGV/PCV drivers must hold a valid DQC card in order to work professionally.
How does it work
For Bus and Coach drivers, if your category D1 licence entitlement was issued prior to September 2008, you will have Acquired Rights, and therefore have to complete 35 hours of periodic training to acquire your first DQC card. All licences issued after this date will have to complete MOD 2 and MOD 4 to acquire their first DQC card.
For HGV and LGV drivers, if your category C1 licence entitlement was issued prior to September 2009, you will have Acquired Rights, and therefore have to complete 35 hours of periodic training to acquire your first DQC card. All licences issued after this date will have to complete MOD 2 and MOD 4 to acquire their first DQC card.
Obtaining your CPC card
All CPC training is given and recorded in 7-hour blocks which are uploaded and recorded as one days training. Once a driver has completed 35 hours of training which is also equivalent to 5 days training DVSA will issue a DQC card to the address recorded on their driving licence. A new card will be dispatched within 2 weeks of completion of the training.
SaNaa Global Courses:
For identification purposes a new style Photo Card Licence or another form of identification with your Drivers Licence Number on it, e.g. Digicard, DQC Card be presented before training can commence.
Certificate of Attendance will be issued for each course attended. Only one DQC card will be issued at any time, all subsequent training undertaken up to 35 hours or 5 days will be recorded on your DQC record but no card will be issued until the expiry of your current card.
